Windows 10 Date and Time Formats

By default, most UK PCs are setup to use the 24 hour clock, so 1.13pm shows as 13.13 and the date in the common format of 24.04.16 like this:-

To adjust it, right click with your mouse on the date/time to reveal this menu:-

After choosing “Adjust date/time”, you will see this screen:-

After selecting “Change date and time formats”, you’ll see a screen to adjust the Date and Time formats as shown below:-

As you can see, the default menus use coding which is hard to understand, so I’ve shown examples beside each to help you.

Once you’ve selected your settings, click on the left arrow to return to the previous screen to see the result. Then you can close the window completely.

Can you spot a fraudulent email?

You may occasionally receive emails pretending to be from companies such as Amazon, eBay, PayPal or Apple. Do you know how to identify one which is clearly NOT genuine?

Look at the following email which I received and see what you feel is suspect …. (there’s quite a few !)

If you have any doubts about an email, do NOT click on any links, but log onto your account using the supplier’s website – eg.,, or with your password to check for any alerts.
